Clear answers about quotes, bookings, service priority, vehicle capacity, fragile cargo, waiting time and what happens when a delivery does not go to plan.

01

Quotes and bookings

Getting the job approved.

Is the website calculator price final?

No. Calculator results are indicative until Salem reviews the details and confirms the final price. Incorrect addresses, missing cargo information, access problems, extra handling or technical errors may change the quote.

When is a booking confirmed?

A booking is confirmed only after Salem accepts the job and confirms the final price. Submitting a request does not automatically guarantee availability.

What information should I provide?

Pickup and drop-off addresses, timing, contact details, item quantity and size, whether it is fragile or perishable, access instructions, required handling and anything that could affect the journey.

Can Sorrin beat another courier quote?

Salem may beat a current, genuine and verifiable standard rate for a like-for-like job. Promotions, discounts, bulk contracts, unavailable services and non-comparable quotes are excluded.

02

Service and timing

How priority works.

What is the difference between Flexible, Express and Priority?

Flexible / 4H+ is the lowest-cost option, Express / 2H provides a tighter service window, and Priority / ASAP receives the highest service priority Salem can reasonably provide. All options remain subject to availability and real-world delays.

Does Priority mean no other work will be handled?

No. A Priority or ASAP job receives the highest available service level, but it does not guarantee that no other necessary job, delay, emergency or matter will be attended to if Salem considers it necessary.

What area do you cover?

The core area is the Ballarat region and M8 corridor. Melbourne and regional Victorian work may be possible by request and is quoted according to the job.

Can I request a strict pickup or delivery time?

Yes. Strict windows and urgent requirements should be disclosed before booking and may attract an additional charge. Availability, traffic, weather, access and other delays still apply.

03

Cargo and vehicles

What can travel safely.

What kinds of items can Sorrin carry?

Typical work includes documents, samples, stock transfers, customer orders, bouquets, cakes and other suitable business deliveries. The item must fit safely in the available vehicle and be properly packed.

How large is the main vehicle?

The Mazda has an approximate boot opening of 102 cm wide by 74 cm high, with more than 200 cm of load length available with the seats down. Final suitability depends on shape, weight, packaging and safe restraint.

Can you carry bulky items or use roof racks?

Potentially. Bulky or heavy items attract an additional charge, and larger vehicle or roof-rack arrangements must be booked in advance. Provide dimensions and weight before the job is accepted.

Can you deliver fragile or perishable items?

Yes where practical, but they must be disclosed and packed appropriately. Perishable or temperature-sensitive items are strongly recommended for Priority service. Refrigerated, frozen or hot-holding conditions are not guaranteed unless separately agreed.

What items will you refuse?

Unsafe, unlawful, leaking, contaminated, poorly packed or unsuitable items may be refused. Sorrin does not provide specialist dangerous-goods, heavy freight, pallet, refrigerated truck, secure cash, specialist medical or specialist artwork transport.

04

Delivery issues

When the plan changes.

Is proof of delivery included?

Proof of delivery notes and a photo, plus an SMS delivery notification, are listed as complimentary inclusions where appropriate.

What happens if someone is unavailable?

Salem may contact the customer, wait and charge waiting time, return the item, reattempt delivery for an additional fee, or leave it only where clear authority has been given and doing so is reasonable.

Can I authorise the item to be left?

Yes, where reasonable. Once an item is left according to clear authority-to-leave instructions, the customer accepts the risks of theft, weather, spoilage or third-party interference.

What happens if the job details change?

Extra stops, amended addresses, unexpected access, waiting, return trips, heavier cargo or additional work may change the final price. Tell Salem as soon as possible.

How is payment handled?

Payment terms are confirmed before the job is accepted and may depend on the customer and job type. Guest bookings may require pre-payment after approval; approved business arrangements may use agreed payment terms.
